Some people like to customize. Others call it modding. Either way, it's your guitar.

Hardware Upgrades

A lot of guitars can benefit from various "upgrades" and a lot of these changes can be reversed if you ever want to restore or sell your guitar. Try locking tuners, bone nuts, strap locks - whatever you want to do.

A collection of guitar-related items is spread out on a red surface. There are guitar picks of various colors and shapes, an electric guitar pickup, a green instrument cable, a vacuum tube, screws and hardware, and a guitar neck with an aqua-colored pick lying on it. Instruction cards and booklets are also visible.

Electronics

You know the sound you're getting and you know the sound you want. Warm, thick, fat, smooth, hot, scooped - there's a million ways to describe it. Your pickups are one of the components that contribute to your sound. Pickups, wiring, switches, pots, caps, kill switches, phase/series mods, coil splits, coil taps and more.

A big part of the guitar you play is its vibe. Some aspects are hardware changes like tuners, bridges, tailpieces and pickups (the metals), but the plastics can change too. Change out your pickguard, cavity cover, knob, and switch tips. Or go big and let's talk about refinishing.
